A slow, mild root for the ordinary winter.
Astragalus (huang qi) is a traditional tonic root, simmered like soup more than steeped like tea. The slices look like tongue depressors. It is for ordinary weeks, not for when you are already running a high fever.

Ingredients

- Organic astragalus root slices3–4 slices
Method

Simmer 20–30 minutes in 750 ml water. The liquor should taste faintly sweet.

Remove the slices; they can be simmered once more.
