Ingredients

1 cup

  • Fresh organic ginger · very thinly sliced3 cm

Method

  1. 1

Simmer slices in 300 ml water 6–8 minutes. Softer if you are very queasy.

  2. 2

Sip a few spoonfuls at a time, not a full mug in one go.

Why this cup

  • Traditionally used for queasiness
  • Easy to keep brewing through an afternoon
  • Works warm; some people chew a thin slice instead

Go gently

  • Culinary amounts. Large doses are not for late pregnancy without advice, and may not suit gallstones or blood thinners.
  • Very spicy batches can worsen reflux.
  • Not a stand-in for care if vomiting is severe or lasts.
